A new service I am offering after completing training at the Lakes School of Massage and being honoured to practice on my daughter who is now the proud Mum of her second daughter.
Pregnancy is an amazing time in your life and it's important that you take good care of yourself. Pregnancy or antenatal massage can be enjoyed from 12 weeks onwards. It has a wonderful range of benefits for prenatal women. As pregnancy progresses, it's common for women to experience more niggles & discomfort. A pregnancy massage helps to alleviate the pregnancy aches and pains that can occur, such as back & hip ache.
Pregnancy massage encourages endorphin release, which helps to tackle any anxiety you may be feeling, which in turn helps to reduce stress. Reducing stress in an antenatal woman is important, as it is thought that stress can be passed onto babies in the womb. Happy mum, happy baby!

Pregnancy massage is safe from the moment you’re pregnant but those first 12 weeks can be pretty miserable if you have sickness and tiredness and the thought of being massaged is probably far from your mind! Once you begin to feel a bit better and are reassured about the progress of the pregnancy, regular massage can be a real treat.
A pregnancy massage can help with back pain, leg cramps and reduce the swelling of joints, especially the ankles.
A massage can help to reduce levels of the stress hormone noradrenaline as well as cortisol, an indicator of stress.

Prior to any pregnancy massage, a full health questionnaire and consultation is completed to ensure that it is safe to proceed with the massage.
